I love January. As I walked in the frosty dawn this morning, I thought that this may be my favorite time of the year. I’m fortunate to live in a climate in which winter is considered free air-conditioning and things actually bloom. The promise of spring begins now. It’s the promise I love – the anticipation, the potential of the new year. Here’s a poem I’m adopting as my anthem for this year
I Will Not Live an Unlived Life
I will not live an unlived life./I will not live in fear/Of falling or catching fire./I choose to inhabit my days, to allow my living to open me, To make me less afraid, more accessible;/To loosen my heart/Until it becomes a wing,/A torch, a promise./I choose to risk my significance,/To love/So that which came to me as a seed/Goes next to blossom,/And that which came to me as blossom,/Goes on to fruit. A year ago, I pledged an update each week. Well, I didn’t quite make it yet I pledge it again. I resolve to update this space each week with dreams, their meaning and more. Enjoy January.
